The function of the human body and its capacity to heal from nearly anything is fascinating to me and I love helping people feel better. It might be a spiritual matter, but I’m driven by the belief that everything needed to maintain and restore health is provided by mother earth. My passion is in natural healing and the role and power of the mind to “heal thyself”.
What started with health coach training focused on Alzheimer’s prevention has taken me down a winding path. I developed a program to help people avoid and reverse early signs of dementia, like memory lapses, trouble finding words, or losing the thought train mid-sentence.
Recently I’ve been supporting some dear ones dealing with cancer. All of them are invested in the western medical approach, which is chemo, radiation, etc. I can and do support this with natural supplemental therapies like clean nutrition and the plant-based gifts from nature that I’ve come to know and love.
Money is often stretched to the point of no return in both types of patients, especially the latter. Medical bills leave little funding available for natural products like organic food, plant medicine, and lesser known therapies such as hyperbaric chambers, infrared saunas and energy work.
The cash just isn’t there for them to purchase things that would likely make a difference to their outcome. And honestly, I have a hard time charging sick people. I just don’t have that empathy shutoff that would allow my tiny business brain to step in.
Time to pivot.
Turning 60 in 2023 brought the awareness that I’m nowhere near ready for retirement. I’ve not been a good saver, investor, or money manager. I can’t even say that I’ve been a good earner for these 46 years as a working person. It just never mattered that much to me; I’ve always had enough and I’ve always been ok. But the magic number 60, plus the cost of being alive today made me reevaluate.
So I went looking for a side hustle. I knew I wanted to work from home (or anywhere). I needed a completely flexible schedule because it had to fit around health coaching. And on top of that, I wanted something that would never get old or boring.
